Join PSU's Student Community Engagement Center to volunteer your time and energies to help one of our community partners on a "Serve Your City" project! The Shadow Project's mission is to make school more accessible and engaging for children with learning challenges, so they can achieve their full potential.
By equipping classrooms with innovative tools and strategies tailored to diverse learning needs, The Shadow Project has teamed with schools to foster success for more than 11,000 students who typically read one- to three-years below grade level, and have challenges such as dyslexia, ADHD, and autism.
Service Activities Include:
- Organizing educational materials
- Gathering teaching supplies
This service project will be held at The Shadow Project's supply warehouse at 4916 NE 122nd St, Portland. We will all meet together at PSU at the listed start time and drive together to the service site (about a 20 minute trip). We will leave their location at 12:00 and arrive back at PSU together by 12:30 pm.
This project is open to all Portland State University students through the Student Community Engagement Center's #serveyourcityserveyourcampus program.
