Teaching Garden Work Day: Winterize the Garden

Saturday, November 14th, 2020 from 9:30am to 12:00pm (CT)

About

This month's project is: Winterize the Garden
\We'll be building row covers so that we can easily cover plants for the first frost. We will also harvest loofahs, squash, and melons ahead of the first frost and talk about steps you can take to protect tender perennials over the winter.

No experience required. For this project, volunteers should be able to bend and stoop to the ground for planting. Please dress for the weather, and consider a hat, sunscreen, and bug spray. Bring your own garden gloves, if you have them; if you do not bring them, garden gloves will be provided.

For groups larger than 5 people, please contact our volunteer coordinator Ariel Cummins at ariel@cibolo.org to make sure we have proper accommodations for you.
