Organizational Information: Food Not Bombs is gaining momentum throughout the world. There are hundreds of autonomous chapters sharing free vegetarian food with hungry people and protesting war and poverty. Food Not Bombs is not a charity. This energetic all-volunteer grassroots movement is active throughout the Americas, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia. For over 30 years the movement has worked to end hunger and has supported actions to stop the globalization of the economy, restrictions to the movements of people, end exploitation and the destruction of the earth and its beings. Read more here. (foodnotbombs.net) Opportunity Description: Come join us for a delicious community meal! Help us cook up some vegan and vegetarian food and give out groceries for free! Keep in mind that there are some risks involved with working in a kitchen. Please wear appropriate clothing and shoes, and be prepared to learn kitchen safety basics. No prior knowledge of cooking is required; this is an opportunity for all volunteers to share their skills and learn new ones.
