Lowery Institute virtual summer interns are responsible for the overall delivery of a creative and enjoyable virtual camp experience. Our interns are college students who have strong leadership skills and are creative in planning and implementing programs and activities for middle school students.
During the summer camp period, interns will hosts a variety of activities daily during the weeks of June 8 – July 31. Each intern will offer planned program content with energy and enthusiasm with the ultimate goal to provide a safe and memorable experience for the campers. The summer intern will be responsible for developing and or delivering curriculum for an assigned activity, on a specific day, at a specific time for the duration of the virtual camp.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent multitasker with a genuine passion for working with and empowering youth. Interns will need to be savvy with technology, patient, fun-loving, and confident in their ability to motivate and assist campers in everything from learning new skills to working through activities.
Primary Responsibilities Include
Overseeing and facilitating activities via zoom calls
Creating points of engagement with campers during online activities
Responding to chat comments during the zoom calls
An ability set the rules for positive engagement during each program
An ability positively mediate any conflicts that may arise between members of the group.
Bringing notable concerns or incidents to Lowery Institute Senior staff
