We apologize for the cancelation due to the risk of adverse weather and hope you are still interested in helping out in the park.
Pease Park Conservancy welcomes you to National Trails Day in Pease Park. Today we will be celebrating the Shoal Creek Trail by cleaning up all the litter and trash that has found its way into Pease park and Shoal Creek. Because Shoal Creek is the lowest point in the surrounding watershed, every time it rains all the garbage nearby flows into the creek. Some of the trash flows out into Lady Bird Lake, but a lot of it is caught by the vegetation along the creek in the park. With your help, we can collect up all the garbage and keep the park and trail clean.
There has been an increase in snake sightings in the park, none of which have been venomous. This said, closed-toed shoes are now required, boots are preferred. Without proper footwear, you will be turned away for safety concerns.
Gloves and trash bags will be provided. Masks will be required for anyone who is not yet fully vaccinated.
We will be meeting in the park by the large black sculpture, The Mystic Raven.
