Mission & Ministry invites you to a new series of UIW DEI Circles focused on Civic Engagement for Racial Justice entitled, "Want Democracy?" in partnership with NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice. All UIW students participating in these "Want Democracy?" sessions can receive (1.5) hours of service.

The Racial Wealth & Income Gap Session will be an interactive workshop that has participants explore the systemic impacts of 12 federal policies on the wealth accumulation of four families throughout U.S. history. The same workshop will be offered again for others who may want to attend but can not due to a schedule conflict.

Colin Longmore, NETWORK Grassroots Outreach & Education Specialist

Requirement Details
Wondering if you should register to volunteer? Based on the CDC guidelines, we are asking you the following questions:
  1. Have you been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? See the CDC’s risk assessment guidance.

  2. Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? Symptoms can include a cough or shortness of breath or at least two of the following: Fever, Chills, Repeated shaking with chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell. See the CDC’s symptom information.

If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, we ask you not to register. We are doing all we can to align with best practices and keep our community healthy.
Perks
As a result of your participation and completion of the 'impact', participants will receive 1.5 hours of service credit toward their UIW community service graduation requirement.
