COVID-19 Update: Search GivePulse for ways to support your community during the Coronavirus Pandemic.***Note: These opportunities are not PSU coordinated or affiliated ways to get involved in your community. Please use your judgement in considering which opportunities are appropriate for you and consult the CDC guidelines before you choose to volunteer in order to protect yourself and the community. While many organizations will do everything they can to ensure your safety, this is an emergency response to a national crisis and many opportunities are being organized by your fellow community members - you will be volunteering at your own risk and not under the recommendation or endorsement of PSU. When you search for an opportunity:
Please keep in mind that organizations/groups may have limited capacity to interact with students as they address internal immediate needs and concerns around COVID-19. It is best to double check with an organization to see if their GivePulse opportunities are up to date. You might start with looking at their website to see their specific COVID-19 updates and remember to be patient when waiting for responses from these organizations who are working under extreme circumstances to continue providing services to our community.
Welcome to Portland State University's hub for finding volunteer opportunities with campus and community partners. Powered by Give Pulse, this platform makes PSU's motto of “Let Knowledge Serve the City” easily accessible for students, staff, faculty, and community partners. Whether you are looking for a one-time or ongoing service project, or are involved in a Community-Based Learning class, Give Pulse can help you get connected to meaningful projects.
The Student Community Engagement Center (SCEC) is your go-to resource for co-curricular student civic engagement at Portland State University -- in other words, serving in the community outside of your classes! From one-time service projects (working in gardens and parks, sorting donations, sprucing up community spaces, and more) to longer-term opportunities (mentoring elementary school kids, participating in an Alternative Spring Break service trip, or becoming a Student Leader for Service), get involved in the way that meets your schedule and interests! Visit the Student Community Engagement Center subgroup to learn more about our opportunities.
In addition to SCEC-sponsored service projects, you can also browse through a variety of other opportunities hosted by our community partners by visiting the PSU GivePulse Opportunity Search Page.
