Growing Gardens

Growing Gardens uses the experience of growing food in schools, backyards and correctional facilities to cultivate healthy, equitable, communities. Across our programs we are dedicated to improving the lives and conditions in underserved communities.
Our Home Gardens program partners with diverse and multi-generational families to build and sustain food-producing gardens, which reduce hunger and food insecurity, and strengthen the health of families and communities.
Our Youth Grow program collaborates with high-poverty school communities to develop sustainable garden education programs, which provide hands-on science education and opportunities for children to connect with nature, while encouraging healthy eating habits.
Our Lettuce Grow program provides educational and gardening experiences to people who are incarcerated in the state of Oregon, providing fresh produce for the facilities' kitchens and area food banks, and accredited horticulture education to inmates.
