The UPS Scholars Program is funded by the UPS Corporation Foundation to provide scholars of each of the Atlanta University Center institutions the opportunity to provide tutorial instruction to students at Fickett Elementary School of the Atlanta Public Schools system. These scholars will be assigned to a classroom of third, fourth, fifth grades who will provide assistance to the instructor by tutoring one-on-one to students in the areas of Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies to increase understanding of concepts in preparation for the Georgia Milestones.As a scholarship recipient, each scholar will be required to complete a total of 300 community service hours of tutoring (150 hours per semester), attend monthly meetings with all AUC UPS Scholars, and participate in Morehouse Fickett Day and Fickett Career Day events.
