The Salvation Army of Greenville, NC Serving Pitt County - Volunteers welcome

The Salvation Army an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

The Salvation Army of Greenville, NC serving all of Pitt County has need of regular volunteers who would like to come out on a weekly basis as time permits from their busy lives to help us as a volunteer.  We would like to have several trained people locally who are available and willing to serve in our 2718 S. Memorial Drive to help Monica Daniels our Social Worker to maintain and prepare food bags/boxes for our clients in need. Preparation will be done inside the building at this location 2718 S. Memorial Dr. Greenville, NC.

We need volunteers to stock canned goods, check expiration dates, and organize our pantry. Keeping things cleaned and tidy for daily use. Clean out our walk-in freezer and fridge, help as needed to maintain order and cleanliness of our pantry.

We have two large walk-in refrigerator/freezers which must have donated food placed on shelfs weekly. Volunteers can help in the pantry and keeping it organized and cleaned as needed. There is some heavy lifting involved with the food boxes and frozen foods. There are tasks for both the light lifter and the heavy lifter. Children under age 18 must have an adult chaperone.

We will train all regular volunteers and provide items needed to accomplish weekly food panty goals. How much time you spend is completely up to you and any time from two hours to twenty-five hours per week is appreciated! We ask that you are vetted to become a long-term volunteer and then are scheduled for your time as a volunteer.

Reach out to me directly my name Kimberly Beyer to become a volunteer. I am the Volunteer Coordinator for The Salvation Army of Greenville, NC serving all of Pitt County. I would love to help you find a way to volunteer for the local Salvation Army. Together we really can do the most Good!
